When cloning Flappy Bird is no longer cool, this game developer gives his game a total makeover

Add some platformer, a hint of shooter, a generous amount of skills system with RPG element and, finally, a sprinkle dose of an adorable tiny monkey character!
SINGAPORE - April 14, 2016 - PRLog -- Making $50,000 a month is probably a dream for 90% of the world population, let alone $50,000 a day. When the news broke out that a Vietnam-based developer made $50,000 a day with his game Flappy Bird, everybody wanted to join the bandwagon to get a piece of the pie.

This is what inspired HobbiGames to start a Flappy Bird inspired project called Super Tiny Monkey. The project started in August 2014 with a concept of a monkey jumping endlessly from one tree to the next to avoid traps and spikes.

However, with 1 Flappy Bird clone submitted to the App Store every 24 minutes, HobbiGames soon realized that Super Tiny Monkey was not going anywhere with its concept. Furthermore, there are more and more cases of game developers being attacked, trolled and bashed online for showcasing their Flappy Bird clones in online gaming communities.

This prompted the developer to innovate and improve Super Tiny Monkey to avoid being stereotyped as yet another shameless Flappy Bird clone.

In early 2015, taking more inspiration from childhood games such as Megaman, Gradius and Donkey Kong, HobbiGames slowly infused Super Tiny Monkey with a mix of endless platformer, action and shooter gameplay elements.

By the end of 2015, not entirely satisfied with the additional features and the title, Super Tiny Monkey receives an upgrade in both branding and game design. In terms of branding, HobbiGames retitled Super Tiny Monkey as Tiny Monkey Escape to give a better description of what the game is about.

On the other hand, design-wise, on top of the past completed improvement, Tiny Monkey Escape boasts a new skills and abilities system with RPG element to introduce gamers to a new dimension of what a Flappy Bird inspired clone could and should be.

Now, in 2016, nearly 2 years after the first prototype, Tiny Monkey Escape's makeover is completed. It is currently ready for the debut as it is gearing up for public beta-tests. Players who are interested in trying the game early are welcome to send us a message on the Tiny Monkey Escape Facebook Page. You can also pre-register the game at Prelaunch.me for both iOS and Android version.

Looking back, Tiny Monkey Escape has truly gone through one massive overhaul and HobbiGames is excited to finally be able to share their vision and hard work with fellow gamers.
