IBM Board Approves Increase in Quarterly Cash Dividend for the 21st Consecutive Year

The IBM (NYSE:IBM) board of directors today declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $1.40 per common share, payable June 10, 2016 to stockholders of record as of May 10, 2016. Today’s dividend declaration represents an increase of $0.10, or eight percent higher than the prior quarterly dividend of $1.30 per common share.

This is the 21st year in a row that IBM has increased its quarterly cash dividend. With this increase, IBM has more than doubled its quarterly dividend per share since 2010. IBM has now paid consecutive quarterly dividends since 1916.

Ginni Rometty, IBM chairman, president and chief executive officer said, "IBM is transforming its business into a cognitive solutions and cloud platform company. Our strong profit and cash flow performance allow us to make the investments required to drive this transformation, while continuing to return significant capital to shareholders."
