Company Update: Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) – Oracle Buys Textura for $633 Million at 30% Premium

[at Barrons.com] – Shares of cloud computing-based billing construction invoice manager Textura (TXTR) are up $6.09, or 31%, at $25.99, after Oracle (ORCL) this morning said it would buy the company for $26 a share in cash. Oracle said it will combine the business of Textura, which serves 85,000 general and subcontractors processing $3.4 billion in payments a month, with Oracle’s “Primavera” unit to form an “Oracle Engineering and Construction Global Business Unit.” Said Oracle VP Mike Sicilia, The increasingly global engineering and construction industry requires digital modernization in a way that automates manual processes and embraces the power of cloud computing to easily connect the construction job site, reduce cost overruns, and improve productivity.
