Talcum powder and baby powder have shown to increase risk of ovarian cancer. A recent $72 million settlement was awarded for ovarian cancer linked to Talcum Powder
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - June 14, 2016 - PRLog -- The Talcum Powder Lawsuit Helpline is gearing up for an outreach to some of the largest cities in the United States to inform women about the link between Talcum Powder products and the increased risk of ovarian cancer. If you used Talcum Powder or Baby powder products on pelvic areas to stay dry for decades and have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, this could be the cause. Research shows that the talc particles can travel to the ovaries and remain there for years, causing irritation which can result in the formation of cancer cells. We are concerned about women who currently have a diagnosis of ovarian cancer and do not realize this could be the cause.

The Talcum Powder Lawsuit Helpline has increased marketing to the largest cities in the U.S., NYC; Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; Philadelphia, PA; Phoenix, AZ; San Antonio, TX; San Diego, CA; Dallas, TX; and San Jose, CA to alert women of the connection between Talcum Powder products, like Johnson and Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower to Shower, and ovarian cancer. Women used these products for years around genital areas and on sanitary napkins without knowing that the talc particles can travel to the ovaries. They can sit there for years causing irritation and inflammation and result in the fatal ovarian cancer diagnosis.

In a recent Talcum Powder lawsuit, a jury decided that Talcum Powder did cause ovarian cancer and awarded $72 million to the family. Manufacturers have known for years and never told women. Instead they promoted their products for use with no warnings. We receive calls on a daily basis from women with ovarian cancer who cannot believe that their diagnosis could be from years of using Johnson's Baby powder or Shower to Shower. They cannot understand how decades could have gone by and no one told them there was a potential risk to using these products. They want to file Talcum Powder lawsuits because they believe they have gotten ovarian cancer from using these Talcum powder consumer products.

The link between ovarian cancer and Talcum Powder "dusting" has been argued for years. In an article published in the 1971 issue of the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, it was noted that research found talcum powder particles inside ovarian cancer victims. In 2013, Cancer Prevention Research reported that women who used talcum powder faced a 20%-30% increased risk of ovarian cancer. Again, this study showed that talc particles can remain embedded in ovaries for up to eight years.

Talcum powder cancer is difficult to diagnose in early stages because it can take so many years for the cancer to develop. Studies have shown a clear connection between talcum powder and a heightened risk of ovarian cancer.

Talcum Powder Lawsuit Helpline wants women to know that using Talc-based products on the genital area can potentially lead to ovarian cancer.

The Talcum Powder Lawsuit Ovarian Cancer Alert outreach will begin in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and continue to NYC, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, and San Jose. This outreach is expected to be done in about a week to ten days.

The next outreach campaign will include: Jacksonville, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Austin, Columbus, Fort Worth, Charlotte, Detroit, and El Paso.

It will continue to Baltimore, Boston, Seattle, Washington, DC, Denver, Milwaukee, Portland and Las Vegas.

Additional target cities include: Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, Tucson, Fresno, Sacramento, Long Beach, Kansas City, Mesa, Virginia Beach, Atlanta, Colorado Springs, Omaha, Raleigh, Miami, Cleveland, Tulsa, Oakland, Minneapolis, Wichita, and Arlington.
