According to a DuraFast Label Company spokesperson, "We suggest using Never 10, a free utility that will stop your Windows 7 or Windows 8 computer from automatically updating to Windows 10."
The representative explained that a lot of their customers have found that their color label printers no longer work under Windows 10. "It's frustrating because they either need to find and install updated printer drivers or reverse the upgrade just to get their color label printers to function like they did before. Plus, they didn't initiate the upgrade; it just happened overnight."
For those whose computers have updated to Windows 10, DuraFast Label Company says that there's an "undo" command built into Windows. "Go to Settings, Update and Security, Recovery, and Go Back. Choose your previous operating system," the spokesperson said. "This will work as long as you perform the recovery within the first 30 days of the upgrade."
Another possible option involves running your color label printer in compatibility mode. "Click Start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Printers and then right-click on your color label printer. Choose Properties, Compatibility, Run As, and enter your previous operating system," the spokesperson said. "The operating system should be able to interact with the device as it did before."
