Orange Business Services Chosen by Solvay for Secure Mobile Device Management and Enhanced Collaboration

Global chemical company Solvay has chosen Orange Business Services to manage and secure its fleet of 7,500 mobile devices and simplify mobility management. Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium and operating in 56 countries, Solvay needed a solution to securely manage its employees’ growing use of smartphones and tablets worldwide.

The Orange mobile device management (MDM) solution allows employees to securely access their corporate resources and collaborate effectively with their colleagues from any smartphone and any tablet. The solution also reduces and controls the cost associated with managing and supporting Solvay’s heterogeneous fleet of devices, including iOS and Android, as well as both professional and personal devices.

Based on the MobileIron platform, the solution is managed and hosted in the Orange Business Services Cloud for more flexibility and increased security. With role-based administration, it allows Solvay’s central IT department to manage global policies while delegating the daily management of local devices to the regional IT and support teams. The solution also simplifies the distribution of applications on employees’ devices and controls functionality.

Orange provided program and project management during implementation and integration, along with ongoing service management. In addition, Orange policy consultancy helped Solvay define enrollment methodology, policies and application distribution strategy.

“We became aware that we did not really have a bring-your-own-device strategy, nor sufficient control over our mobile devices. Orange Business Services presented a solution that met our security policy and operational management needs. The team of experts at Orange Business Services is simple to work with and quickly became our trusted business partner. Their flexibility and responsiveness were important success factors,” said Philippe Panis, IS Infrastructure Services Director at Solvay Business Services at Solvay.

“Management of mobile devices and protection of corporate data are crucial for an international company such as Solvay. Our fully-managed mobile device management solution will allow them to enforce effective security across all their users’ devices, ensure that corporate applications are kept up to date and keep mobility costs to a minimum,” said Anne-Sophie Lotgering, senior vice president Europe, Russia & CIS, Orange Business Services.
