Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) will pay approximately $4.83 billion in cash to acquire the core business of Yahoo Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO). Shares of Verizon slipped 23 cents to close at $55.87 while Yahoo stock fell $1.06 to close at $38.32.
