Swipe Your Way To Less Clutter With The New Stuffstr App

Find Major Retailers and Nonprofits That Make Recirculation Easy
SEATTLE - July 26, 2016 - PRLog -- The Stuffstr App, which launches today in the App Store®, helps you declutter your life and keep things out of the landfill. Stuffstr matches your unused stuff to local and national organizations that will reuse or recycle it. Figuring out what to do with unwanted things is often stressful, whether you're downsizing, getting rid of clutter, or just want to find a home for stuff you're not using. Stuffstr gives you item specific recommendations for nonprofits in your area like Habitat for Humanity ReStores, mail-in options like Give Back Box, and recycling programs like those at The North Face and H&M, which collect apparel and footwear, and Staples, which collects electronics.

Stuffstr lets you automatically import items you've purchased, so recommendations are based on the things you own and include purchase details and photos. Explore matches and then swipe to give things to places you want to support, or let friends know what you have up for grabs. When you're ready, get directions, set reminders, and see pickup and delivery options.

"The average household in the U.S. has over $7,000 in unused stuff, and the average person throws away 70 pounds of clothing annually," said Stuffstr CEO, John Atcheson. "Most people would rather see their belongings go to good use than have them end up in a landfill, but it's often easier to just throw things away. Stuffstr is the first app specifically designed to make it easy to put your unused stuff to good use. Our forward-thinking partners give stuff a second life, and we're excited to be working with them."

Jennifer Gilbert, Chief Marketing Officer of I:Collect (I:CO®), the international service provider for collection, reuse and recycling of apparel and footwear for H&M, The North Face, and other retailers worldwide, said: "Our partner programs reward consumers for reducing textile waste and aim to keep unwanted clothing and shoes in an everlasting reuse and recycling process to protect the environment. We are delighted to be part of the Stuffstr App as it creates much-needed awareness about waste diversion and makes it easier for more people to participate and make a difference."

The Stuffstr App is available in the App Store.
