Alabama Interactive, in partnership with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, recently added a voter registration feature to the online Driver License Renewal Application. This newly integrated feature gives Alabama citizens the ability to register to vote while renewing or replacing their driver’s license online, all in one transaction.
Since the voter registration feature’s implementation in January, approximately 38 percent, or just over 18,000, previously unregistered Alabama citizens have registered to vote utilizing the online Driver License Renewal Application’s voter registration feature.
“The addition of the voter registration feature to the online driver’s license system allows Alabama citizens to register to vote efficiently,” said Secretary of Law Enforcement Stan Stabler. “We are thrilled with the current utilization and hope to see further adoption in the coming months.”
