State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) announced today that it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC). “It is an incredible honor to have received a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index,” said Michael Scannell, senior vice president of Corporate Citizenship and head of the State Street Foundation. “We know that in order to get the most out of our employees, we need to create a work environment which allows them to bring their whole selves to work. This honor is a reflection of our daily effort as a company to encourage and embrace diversity, which beneficially results in a more inclusive and innovative culture.”

The 2017 CEI rated 1,043 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. State Street’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
