Guidewire Named Again as One of the Best Workplaces in Ireland

Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE: GWRE), a provider of software products to general insurers, today announced that it has been named as one of the Best Workplaces in Ireland 2017 by the Great Places to Work Institute. At an awards ceremony held in Dublin in February, Guidewire was placed twelfth in the medium-sized workplaces category. This is the second time Guidewire has received Best Workplaces in Ireland recognition and the second year it has entered the programme.

The Best Workplaces awards are determined by the results of an independent, third-party survey in which employees from hundreds of Irish-based, and headquartered, organisations participate. Employers are ranked on topics including work culture, management practices and behaviors, trust in colleagues and senior leaders, compensation and benefits, and the perception that their contribution is valued.

"We feel very honoured to be recognised as a Best Workplace in Ireland," said Ian Creamer, vice president, Human Resources, EMEA, Guidewire Software. "Guidewire is fortunate to have such a diverse, engaged and dynamic team in Dublin. They are central to our success as a global business, and have grown steadily in number since we established this Irish base. It is their commitment and enthusiasm that underpins the professional yet fun environment recognised by this award.”

“It is always a challenge to ensure the right mix of expertise in a company that strives to provide high levels of customer service,” said Dan Lonborg, senior director, software engineering, Guidewire Software. “By locating our product development and services teams together, we have seen our people develop strong professional and personal relationships which ensure a solid collaborative work culture, as well as enhanced customer support. We aim to offer a creative and happy work environment where our colleagues can thrive and feel valued. This award shows our staff are in agreement; as a company we must continue to earn their appreciation.”

About Great Place to Work

Great Place to Work Ireland is part of a global network of culture consultants, with offices in 48 countries using an established methodology to publish lists at country, regional, and global levels. The best known of these is the Fortune 100 list of Best Companies to Work For in the United States.

The key defining feature of a great workplace is the level of trust that exists within it. From an employee’s viewpoint, the definition of a great workplace is one where you trust the people you work with, you have great pride in what you do, and you enjoy the people you work with. The Great Place to Work Institute assesses the policies and practices in place in organisations under nine key areas: Inspiring, Speaking, Listening, Caring, Developing, Thanking, Hiring, Celebrating, and Sharing. They then benchmark these practices against other organisations in that country. The second key component of the assessment is an anonymous Trust Index survey that gathers the perceptions of employees under five dimensions: Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride, and Camaraderie. Finally, there is an in-depth qualitative analysis of open ended comments from employees.
