Northern Trust Supports Hurricane, Earthquake Relief

Northern Trust announced today it will make a $75,000 corporate contribution to the American Red Cross to support assistance efforts to people affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and in Mexico after recent earthquakes.

“All of us at Northern Trust are deeply saddened by the devastation and aftermath caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and the earthquakes that recently struck Mexico,” Northern Trust Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frederick H. Waddell said. “We are thankful for relief efforts coming from around the globe in both the private and public sectors.”

Northern Trust supported disaster relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey on the Texas Gulf Coast this year. Northern Trust also supported disaster relief efforts in response to the Philippines typhoon (2013), Superstorm Sandy on the U.S. East Coast (2012), Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami (2011), floods in eastern Australia (2011) and the earthquake in Haiti (2010). Northern Trust gave more than $16 million in cash contributions to charitable organizations worldwide in 2016, and more than $84 million during the last five years.
