PlayerAuctions' Take: ELEAGUE Sponsors First CS:GO Major of 2018

By: PRLog
Boston sure gets lots of love as the first major of 2018 for CS:GO, courtesy of ELEAGUE and one million dollars!
LOS ANGELES - Oct. 12, 2017 - PRLog -- The Boston ELEAGUE Major will showcase the pro skills of 16 best players in CS:GO. For two weeks, these teams will battle it out to find the undisputed champion of most popular esport shooter in the world.

Boston University's Agganis Arena will be the stage for this event's playoffs from January 26 to 28, and matches can be streamed live on television (TBS), with options for Twitch, YouTube, and ELEAGUE's website.

The Turner-owned venture, ELEAGUE, has been making its mark as a premier tournament organizing power in esports. Not only have they dipped into the popular Dota 2 and CS:GO, but they've also been making events for Street Fighter V, Injustice 2, Overwatch, and other games. With lots of experience under their belt, they've proven that they've what it takes to make the CS:GO, Boston Major, a success.

Not only that, but this will be the second major held by ELEAGUE. Considering that every major is only a major because Valve backs it, the trust they have with this tournament organizer is beyond doubt.

The eight confirmed teams that will compete in Boston in 2018 include the following:

1. SK Gaming

2. Virtus Pro

3. Fnatic

4. Astralis

5. BIG

6. Gambit Esports

7. North

8. Immortals (former roster).

Their spots were earned instantly due to their performance as top 8 in the PGL Krakow Major in July 2017.

Lots of spots are left, and the Major Qualifier is keen on fixing that. In the same PGL Krakow Major, the teams that participated are qualified to partake in the Boston Major qualifiers too. The teams include the following:

1. FaZe Clan

2. Natus Vincere

3. Mousesports

4. PENTA Esports

5. Vega Squadron

6. FlipSid3 Tactics

7. G2 Esports

8. Cloud9

Still, there are eight spots left for the Major Qualifier, and these are determined by four offline Minor Qualifiers. It's no-holds-barred for these Minors, so anybody can try to field their team to try and make it with the other pros.

However, for these aspiring new teams to reach the minors in the first place, they have to participate in an open, online competition. CIS, North America, South America, and European teams have brackets available for any team willing to participate in the glorious fight for one million dollars.

2018 is shaping up to be a good year for CS:GO, and ELEAGUE's been proving itself as one of the go-to tournament organizers for things related to esports. Let's hope that people can continue to ride this momentum for more successes in the esports scene for the future.
