Bernie Sanders worked on an Israeli commune in the '60s that could have influenced his politics

Bernie Sanders is running for president again on a platform of democratic socialism that promotes some of the same values touted on the Israeli commune where he volunteered in his early 20s. "They lived in identical houses. There wasn't a salary; everyone received according to their needs. The kibbutz gave everything: food, shelter, education, health," the commune's current chairman said.
