Boston Properties Appoints Two New Independent Directors

Boston Properties, Inc. (NYSE: BXP) today announced that its stockholders elected two new independent directors, Ms. Diane Hoskins and Mr. William Walton, to its Board of Directors at the Company’s annual meeting of stockholders held on May 21, 2019. The two new directors fill the seats previously held by Dr. Jacob Frenkel and Mr. Martin Turchin, both of whom retired from Boston Properties’ Board of Directors. Boston Properties is governed by an 11-member Board, including nine independent directors of which 44% are women.

Boston Properties also announced that Mr. Joel Klein, who had been serving as Lead Independent Director, has been appointed as independent, non-executive Chairman of the Board.

About Ms. Diane Hoskins

Ms. Hoskins joins the Boston Properties Board with extensive leadership in architecture, design, real estate, and business. Ms. Hoskins has been the Co-CEO of M. Arthur Gensler Jr. & Associates, Inc., the world’s largest architecture, design, and planning firm since 2005, and Chair of the Gensler Board of Directors since 2018. She founded the Gensler Research Institute in 2005 and, prior to her role as CEO, held various positions at the organization, including Southeast Regional Managing Principal and Managing Director of the Washington, DC office. Prior to Gensler, Ms. Hoskins held senior positions at Epstein Architecture and Engineering and Olympia & York. Ms. Hoskins is currently a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Cities & Urbanization, and the CEO Initiative by Fortune and Time. Ms. Hoskins has been honored by several organizations for her work, including the Spirit of Life Award from City of Hope and the Outstanding Impact Award from the Council of Real Estate Women. She was inducted into the Washington Business Hall of Fame and was ranked on the Business Insider’s list of the world’s 100 top creative visionaries.

About Mr. William Walton

Mr. Walton brings more than 40 years of real estate investment, development and management experience, as well as executive leadership experience. Mr. Walton is co-founder and managing member of Rockpoint Group, LLC, a global real estate investment management firm where he and the founding managing members have invested in approximately $60 billion of real estate. Mr. Walton also co-founded Westbrook Real Estate Partners, LLC, a similar real estate investment management firm. Prior to co-founding Westbrook, Mr. Walton was a managing director in the real estate group of Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. Mr. Walton is involved with several real estate industry organizations and serves on the boards of Crow Holdings and FRP Holdings, Inc. He is a former trustee of Corporate Office Properties Trust and a former director of Florida Rock Industries and The St. Joe Company.
