Fiat Chrysler, Renault merger could herald more auto-industry consolidation

The proposed merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Renault SA would drive a “much needed” wave of consolidation among auto makers, analysts at Evercore ISI said in a note Tuesday.
