Rockwell Automation earnings beat consensus, but sales and outlook miss

Shares of Rockwell Automation Inc. slipped ahead of the market opening Thursday after the Milwaukee-based industrial automation company reported third-quarter sales short of analysts' expectations and reduced its adjusted earnings outlook for the year.
