Robotic lawn-mowing franchise supports popular robot-fighting TV series

When the 2019 BattleBots World Championship Tournament airs Friday, September 20, at 8:00 p.m. on the Discovery Channel, Durham-based Mowbot will be prominently featured as the show’s sponsor.
Mowbot – a national franchise aimed at disrupting the $99.5-billion-dollar lawn care industry with its robotic lawn-mowing service – has signed on to sponsor the “My Super Sweet 16” episode. Sixteen of the deadliest bots from around the world will battle it out in head-to-head combat in pursuit of the top prize in robot combat: The Giant Nut.
BattleBots, in its ninth season, features 69 bot-building teams from around the globe and their epic creations tricked out with deadly weapons and state-of-the-art onboard technology.
The building of next-generation robots is a natural fit for Durham-based Mowbot, and its Husqvarna manufactured robotic lawnmowers.
