Less Than Two Weeks Left to Nominate a Utah High School Student for $25,000 College Scholarship From Sallie Mae

Less than two weeks remain for school counselors and local community leaders to nominate high school juniors or seniors in Utah for a $25,000 Bridging the Dream Scholarship from Sallie Mae®. High school counselors and community leaders have until Sept. 26 to nominate a student. For the third consecutive year, Sallie Mae will award a $25,000 scholarship to a student in Utah, where Sallie Mae Bank is headquartered.

Sallie Mae’s Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program recognizes students who have excelled both inside and outside of the classroom, but whose financial circumstances or other obstacles in life may not allow them to pursue a college education. The simple nomination process requires two, 200-word essays that highlight contributions inside and outside the classroom and any issues that may prevent a student from attending college.

“Our mission at Sallie Mae is grounded in helping aspiring minds achieve the lives they imagine and that starts with making the dream of a higher education a reality,” said Martha Holler, senior vice president, Sallie Mae. “Last year’s Utah scholarship recipient, Thanh Le, was not only a shining example of our mission in action, but also a testament to the caliber of students in the Beehive State. With less than two weeks left, we urge our local high school counselors and leaders throughout the community to nominate a deserving student, and together, we’ll help make college happen!”
