Ameriprise Financial Mobilizes Thousands of Volunteers at Food Banks Nationwide

On November 8, thousands of volunteers from Ameriprise Financial (NYSE: AMP) will lend a hand at food banks, pantries and meal programs across the country to help people facing hunger in America. More than 7,000 Ameriprise employees, financial advisors and clients will sort food donations, serve meals, and stock shelves at events nationwide. The volunteer day, which marks the 10-year anniversary of the company’s signature partnership with Feeding America®, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization, will provide more than 1 million meals for people in need.

“Though much has changed since we started the Ameriprise National Days of Service 10 years ago, domestic hunger remains a persistent problem,” said Brian Pietsch, head of Community Relations at Ameriprise. “Thirty-seven million people in America do not know where their next meal will come from. That is unacceptable, and that’s why Ameriprise is committed to doing our part to help.”

10 Years of Bringing Volunteers Together to Help End Hunger
Ameriprise began its partnership with Feeding America in 2009 to help food banks in the wake of the financial crisis. Since then, Ameriprise advisors, employees and clients have provided more than 92 million meals and volunteered more than 340,000 hours to help Feeding America and other hunger-relief organizations provide meals to people in need.
