Moderna’s stock rises as it ships the first batch of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate

Shares of Moderna Inc. soared 28% in trading on Tuesday as the biotechnology company took the lead in efforts to develop a vaccine for COVID-19, the novel coronavirus that has sickened more than 80,000 people and killed at least 2,700 people.
