The Stocktwits 2020 Year In Review – Riley Rosenberger and Thomas Tranfo of Stocktwits Join Me for a Special Panic with Friends

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope the rest of the year and new year are filled with laughs and rest. We have almost made it to 2021. I will finish off my 2021 predictions tomorrow because I taped this year in review podcast with Riley and Tommy at Stocktwits that I wanted to share. Merry Christmas everyone. I hope the rest of the year and new year are filled with laughs and rest. We have almost made it to 2021.

I will finish off my 2021 predictions tomorrow because I taped this year in review podcast with Riley and Tommy at Stocktwits that I wanted to share.

I have had such a great time this year following the markets. I have had the immense pleasure of watching so many young people get introduced to the markets and make their first investments and make some great decisions. Two of my favorite ‘yoots’ are Tommy Tranfo and Riley Rosenberger who I text and chat with almost daily at Stocktwits. They have carried the heavy burden of managing the content and the community on Stocktwits and have done a fantastic job in 2020.

As if they were not busy enough, I asked them if they could put together a ‘Year In Review’ set of stocks and charts that captured the mood of the Stocktwits community through 2020. They did and it will be shared at some point this weekend on Stocktwits.

In the meantime, I had them on my ‘Panic With Friends’ podcast to discuss the year we just witnessed and the stocks and markets they chose for the yearly review. I had them both on back in March and it was a funny interview worth listening to as well…we were all so young back than.

You can listen to the ‘Year in Review’ with Riley and Tommy right here on Spotify or Apple.

Fun Fact: Riley also has the ol’ podcast bug like me. His podcast over at Stocktwits, After Hours, breaks down the day’s market action Mondays and Thursdays after market close – and all under 5 minutes. Give it a listen here.

What’s the Panic About:

A year ago on my blog, I asked: “Could 2020 be as good as 2019?” From where I’m standing now, that’s going to be a different answer depending on who you ask. So, I called on two pretty cool kids over at Stocktwits to put something together and help us all make some sense as to what exactly happened this infamous year. That’s right, this isn’t just any episode of Panic – it’s a Stocktwits and Panicwith Friends pandemic special! In this episode, Stocktwits’ Riley Roseberger and Tommy Tranfo break down what was going on in the markets from the pre-COVID days in January to the dark days of March to where we stand as of December. We talk about all the industries, trends and stocks that dominated conversations on Stocktwits and beyond in 2020, including Tesla, oil, SPACs, EV companies, solar, gambling, social platforms like TikTok and Snapchat, crypto, weed and more. I want to thank Stocktwits again for putting this all together and continuing to put up with me as I make this podcast. I hope you’ve had as much fun listening as I’ve had making Panic with Friends this year!

The Takeaway:

The future is winning. It really has been quite a year, and I can’t wait to see what 2021 brings. I’ve already made some predictions for 2021, which you can read here.

Favorite Quotes:

“In my 150 years of being alive, following markets that March was the craziest thing i’ve ever seen.”

“The market was the greatest meme generator of all time this year.”

Food for Thought:

What was your biggest lesson of 2020? And what are your predictions for 2021?

The best way to improve your investing is to journal. There is no easier way to journal than to open a Stocktwits account and start posting your ideas and investments. The small act of accountability will do wonders for your returns.

PS – I am now doing two ‘Panic With Friends’ podcasts per week. Thanks for listening and make sure you subscribe over on Spotify or Apple.
