As a result of the pandemic, she wants to offer relief for the frontline workers who stand on their feet for many hours to help the public.
In a call to action, Jackson who has 20 years of experience in the medical industry in the roles of administrative and executive management created a space for people of all ages, especially those affected by diabetes, established Sushi Footbar. "As a diabetic, my main focus for the Sushi Footbar is to treat people living with diabetes, because this disease attacks the nervous system and the feet, this approach can ease, slow the progression, and aid in the remission of the condition," she said. I also teach my clients about grounding which also aids in the holistic treatment and health of feet."
The spa, inspired by Asian influences, has an ambiance of a serene, peaceful place. Jackson explains why she chose the name Sushi Footbar. "People associate food with the soul and the Sushi Footbar associates reflexology with the soles of the feet. It's holistic medicinal food for the feet."
She adds, "The feet are connected to the organ systems in the body and house meridian zones, also known as energy centers in the feet, which need to have a constant flow of energy current to keep the body free of disease. When these zones are massaged or stimulated, it prevents disease in the body and when they are blocked, it deters the current which blocks centers and creates illness. My business will teach people the importance of self-care and reconnect them with the energy frequencies in the body through the care of the feet."
If Lancaster, California is not accessible, not to worry because Jackson plans to expand her reach. "My long-term goal is to franchise Sushi Footbar in major cities and countries around the world," said Jackson. "I intend to have a diverse franchise that deals with people from all parts of the globe and to be able to create jobs for those that specialize in holistic medicine as well as western medicine."
