Utility’s Clearfield, Utah trailer manufacturing plant was recently presented the TTMA’s “Category A” 2015 Plant Safety Award. This award is given by TTMA to the large trailer manufacturer, with over 750,000 work-hours, with the best overall safety record for cases with lost days. TTMA, has been presenting these awards for 44 years, and this is the fifth “Category A” award won by Utility Trailer since 2005.

In 2015, Utility’s Clearfield plant had a lost-day case rate of only 0.15, representing only 2 lost-day cases out of over 1,130 employees, with over 2.7 million hours worked. “Our safety record is the result of a continuing emphasis by all our employees on preventing and managing incidents, and the company’s comprehensive Return to Work program. We are honored to have the hard work of our employees recognized by our peers at TTMA,” said Todd Smith, Utility’s Clearfield Plant Manager.

“We couldn’t have achieved this award without the continuous focus by our employees on safety. We appreciate everyone’s efforts,” said Bob Griffis, Corporate Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co.

The TTMA Safety Award was presented to Plant Manager Todd Smith and the Clearfield management team by Paul Bennett, Utility’s Chairman & CEO. “It is a pleasure being able to present this Safety Award to Todd and the rest of his team, and to be able to celebrate this achievement with them,” said Mr. Bennett. “Only one plant in our trailer industry receives this annual award, and the owners of Utility Trailer are proud of each and every employee whose hard work not only builds the best refrigerated trailers in the industry, but also creates a safe working environment.” Also assisting in the presentation were Stephen Bennett, Utility’s Vice President and John Harris, Utility’s new Director of Manufacturing.
