Liberty Global (LBTYA) Company Overview

Denver, Colorado-based Liberty Global, Inc. (LBTYA) is the largest cable operator in the international market, providing video, voice and Internet access in 17 countries, primarily in Europe, Japan, Chile, and Australia. The company owns 100% interest in UnitedGlobalCom, which operates cable networks in Europe and Latin America. Its other subsidiary, UPC Holding provides broadband communications services in 10 European countries and Chile. Through its indirect 37.4% controlling ownership interest in Jupiter Telecommunications, the company provides broadband communications services in Japan and provides DTH satellite operations in Australia through its indirect 53.4%-owned subsidiary Austar. The company also has interests in Liberty Cablevision in Puerto Rico and Pramer, a South American cable programmer. It offers a variety of broadband distribution services over cable television systems, including analog video, digital video, Internet access, and telephony.

As of September 30, 2007, Liberty had 23.5 million revenue-generating units (RGUs), which consisted of 14.7 million video subscribers, 5.1 million broadband Internet subscribers, and 3.7 million telephony subscribers. Of the 14.7 million video subscribers, 10.6 million were analog subscribers, 3.1 million digital cable subscribers and 1.0 million DTH subscribers
