Heinz is looking like a promising play, and should look even better after its earnings announcement on November 24.

Nelson Peltz and his constructivist investing philosophy are about to shake up Legg Mason Inc., the fund manager known for its value investing style and fierce independence, writes David Weidner.

In exchange for the board seat, Peltz's Trian Fund Management won't up its stake in the asset manager to more than 9.9% over the next two years.
