SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) - Technology stocks fell Thursday as a harsh view of the semiconductor market and pessimism about the economic recovery contributed to broad losses across the sector.

Among the shares expected to see active trade in Thursday's session are Aetna, Campbell Soup, Hot Topic, Jack in the Box, Limited, NetApp, Sears, Sony and Stage Stores.

Investors will watch Cisco's outlook, for signs of increased demand, as well as bottom line.

ASML Holding NV, the worldâ??s largest maker of semiconductor lithography machines, lifts its sales outlook for the second half of the year, citing improving demand for memory and logic products.
