TELMEX PLACES US $500 MILLION OF SENIOR NOTES

 

Mexico City, November 5, 2009. Teléfonos de México, S.A.B. de C.V. (TELMEX) (BMV: TELMEX; NYSE: TMX; NASDAQ: TFONY; LATIBEX: XTMXL) announced today that it placed senior notes in aggregate principal amount of US$ 500 million, maturing in 2019 and bearing interest at 5.50%.    Closing is scheduled for November 12, 2009.

 The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

 This press release is not an offer for sale of the notes in the Unites States.  The notes have not been registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933 and may not me offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from registration requirements.
