AirPlus Survey Reveals That Industry “Best Practices” Are Not Fully Optimized

AirPlus International, a global provider of corporate travel payment solutions, releases January’s The Wire…from AirPlus entitled: Multiple Policies, Multiple Processes. Of the corporate travel professionals surveyed, only 39% stated they had one comprehensive policy and one comprehensive platform for processing business travel expenses and reimbursements. In fact, approximately one-fourth (24%) stated several policies and multiple platforms were standard for their company’s T&E management. However, more than half (at 56%) felt that the main benefit of an integrated and cohesive approach are the efficiencies gained from streamlining internal processes. “It’s a well established fact that designating both a TMC and corporate card are standard best practices for optimizing corporate travel programs,” said Richard Crum, President of AirPlus International, Inc. “At AirPlus, we seamlessly integrate with all major T&E management systems, for both individual card and central lodge card data, and allocate down to each individual expense report for greater transparency.”

The Wire…from AirPlus is a monthly report on the pulse of the industry and its relevant topics. Results of this edition are based on a survey of 84 travel management professionals in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia/Pacific, in collaboration with Acquis Consulting Group, on January 13-22, 2010.
