Austin rushes to funnel unused CARES funds to small businesses before end of year

With the end of the year approaching, the city has to use up its remaining CARES Act funds or else the money will go back to the federal government. A few million dollars have gone unspent in some of the Covid-19 relief programs created by the city, so those funds are being redirected.
