PacWest Bancorp, Western Alliance stocks post steep losses in wake of First Republic deal

Regional bank stocks are moving deeply into the red on Tuesday after JPMorgan Chase & Co. said early Monday it's acquiring First Republic Bank in a move to shore up confidence in the U.S. banking system.
