Burning Tree Welcomes National Recovery Month

By: PRLog
PR Log - Aug 29, 2011 - September marks the arrival of National Recovery Month, a time devoted to educating the public about addiction and mental health services and celebrating the progress of those who have reclaimed their lives. As part of marking this occasion Burning Tree  will join treatment programs nationwide in honoring the accomplishments of anyone who has transformed his or her life through recovery. The 22nd annual observance will focus on the positive influences made possible by national health care reform on access to much-need recovery services for substance use and mental disorders. The theme, "Join the Voices for Recovery:  Recovery Benefits Everyone," underscores the access provisions within the Affordable Care Act and Mental Health Parity and Addictions Equity Act (MHPAEA), which aims to improve physical and emotional health while ensuring people will receive the care they need at a more reasonable cost.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the purveyor of resources related to National Recovery Month through its website, www.recoverymonth.gov. The site provides a Recovery Month Toolkit, designed for use by professional care providers, policymakers,    non-profits & faith-based organizations, members of the media, family members and advocates, and community coalitions. Banners, flyers and logos are also available for anyone who wants to help raise awareness during National Recovery Month, whether online or in the community.

As an advocate of long-term recovery plans and resources, Burning Tree encourages anyone impacted by addiction to actively participate in addiction-related community events during the month of September. Events are searchable online by zip code with activity options intended for adults, families or children. The site also provides assistance for anyone interested in creating a local event in support of National Recovery Month.

Access to resources also comes from treatment centers that can facilitate a search for addiction specialists in locally, regionally or nationally. Due to a long-term treatment program in a residential setting, Burning Tree draws individuals from all 50 states to its two facilities in Texas, providing solutions for the chronic relapser dealing with alcohol addiction or chemical dependency.

Burning Tree operates two long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment facilities in Texas, with locations near Dallas and Austin. The facilities are licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services, and provide a focus on treating individuals who have experienced a chronic relapse. More information about the services at Burning Tree can be obtained online at http://www.BurningTree.com or by phone at (866) 287-2877.
