NYSE outlines plan after failed merger effort

The top executive of NYSE Euronext on Friday sought to play down near-term threats to the exchange company’s business and direct investors’ attention toward renewed growth plans, on the heels of the Big Board’s scuttled merger plan with Deutsche Boerse AG.
