Founding Member of E-Town Concrete, Ken Pescatore, Joins Ripface Invasion

By: PRLog
PR Log - May 31, 2012 - The members of Ripface Invasion have wanted to add depth to their sound with a second guitar since their inception in 2010.  After recording the follow up to their debut EP this past February, they began their search. Before starting a campaign to try out a new guitar player, lead vocalist/song writer Anthony (Red) Paladino decided to reach out to an old familiar face.  Red stated “We all started bands, and played shows with each other’s bands back in the early to mid 90’s”. Pescatore had already expressed his liking for Ripface’s sound when they started to infiltrate their songs all over the web last year. Red stated “After seeing him get back on stage with E-town in February, I decided no search for a guitar player would actually begin until I talked to Ken”.

Pescatore performed and wrote the music on E-Town Concrete's first two albums on Resurrection AD Records, including the hardcore classic, "Time 2 Shine".  Performing in over 300 shows, and selling over 150,000 records, Pescatore was the face of E-Town in their early years.  After leaving E-Town, Pescatore formed Arson, a metal outfit that signed to Resurrection AD Records.  Arson pushed the limits of genre, utilizing writing and recording techniques that were many years before their time.  Arson toured relentlessly with the likes of God Forbid, As I Lay Dying, and Soulfly.

In 2002, Pescatore decided to trade in his guitar for the family life. He settled down and married his high school sweetheart, Melissa. They both enjoyed the birth of their son, Joshua, in 2008.  In February of 2012, Pescatore returned to the stage to perform with E-Town Concrete for two sold out reunion shows at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ.  Pescatore stated "Getting back on stage after a 10 year hiatus helped me remember how much I loved and missed performing”.  Pescatore states "Ripface Invasion is a group that will allow me to express myself creatively, as well as retain my responsibilities to my family and career".  He expressed he looks forward to the challenges of working in the new band, but he is confident of the success based on the history of each member, and that he has known them for over twenty years.

Ripface Invasion already had a strong reputation in the local New Jersey metal/hardcore circuit prior to adding Pescatore and their signing to Scorpion Records. Their self released debut EP received positive reviews in publications such as The Aquarian and The Jersey Beat. Ripface gained popularity from being played on the radio station WSOU 89.5’s Street Patrol Show. Street Patrol aired their song “The Last One on Earth “on the show at the end of 2011. The song’s popularity grew so much on the show that the station pushed it into its regular rotation as an L/cut.

Ripface Invasion is all set with the addition of Pescatore on second guitar, and the signing to Scorpion Records. The band will be heading out on tour this fall in support of their debut EP that was released last year, and their 2nd EP that will be released this July, which will be their debut record on the Scorpion record label. Pescatore’s debut will be at the 2012 “Darkness Festival”. It will be held at the club Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ on July 14th, 2012. The event takes place three days prior to Ripface Invasion’s worldwide release of their 2nd EP “To Not Give In “on Scorpion Records (http://scorpionrecords.com/).
