Lufthansa still expects earnings contraction

Deutsche Lufthansa on Thursday confirms its outlook for a sharp contraction in earnings in 2012 due mainly to high fuel costs, as the German flag carrier posted second-quarter results that exceeded market expectations, helped by ongoing cost cutting.
