Hewlett-Packar Falls To Loss On $8.8 Billion Charge

Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) fell to a loss for the fourth quarter of $3.49 per share from earnings of $0.12 per share in the year ago period due to an $8.8 billion charge for accounting improprieties at Autonomy Corp. which HP acquired last year. The stock price plummeted $1.39 to $11.92.
