Stock futures up; consumer data, Chicago PMI ahead

U.S. stock-market futures trade in tight ranges on the last trading day of the month on Friday, as investors look to consumer-spending data and the Chicago purchasing managers index due later for at least a temporary respite from the debt-negotiation roller-coaster.
