Energy stocks gain; Chevron, Exxon rise

Energy stocks gain modestly Tuesday, rebounding from Monday’s loss with ConocoPhillips and other majors ahead of peers. Chesapeake Energy recoups some of Monday’s heavy losses, and Shell is said to be eyeing Repsol assets.
