Honda Improves Upon the Already Safe Fit for 2014

By: PRLog
Active braking will join the Fit's many safety features for the vehicle's next model year.

PR Log - Apr 26, 2013 - The team at Boyland Honda has been proud to supply area drivers with the latest in Honda vehicles for many reasons, not the least of which is the automaker's reputation  for safety. The Honda Fit has already been praised for its safety as a small car, but by adding active braking to it, Honda is yet again going above and beyond the call of duty in keeping its drivers safe.

In effect at low speeds (under 18 mph), the Fit's active braking will use a system designed to sense whether a collision with a vehicle, person, or stationary object is about to occur and apply the brakes quickly enough to prevent the accident. This technology will be particularly advantageous for city drivers and should drastically cut down on the number of rear-end collisions that occur for Honda drivers.

When combined with Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, array of airbags, and many distraction-reducing technology amenities, the Fit is aimed to become one of the safest models on the road, if it weren't already.

It can be hard to imagine a way to improve the safety of a vehicle that left its driver without a scratch – and eager to buy another Honda Fit – after rolling over seven times this past December, but Honda's found a way.

While Honda vehicles are well-known for their ability to meet the expectations of safety experts like the IIHS and NHTSA, the Fit is just another example of Honda going well beyond what many other automakers are striving for.

There's more to the Fit than safety, however. The 2013 Honda lineup presented drivers with a new definition of “standard features,” providing new amenities on the basic trim levels of many vehicles. Amenities that most automakers expect drivers to pay extra for.

For more information on active braking, including when it will be available on local models of the Honda Fit, contact the sales team at Boyland Honda. Their experts are knowledgeable in the full lineup of Honda vehicles and their showroom includes a wide range of pre-owned models as well. Boyland Honda is open six days a week (with Sunday available for browsing) at 6141 South 27th Street in Greenfield, Wisconsin.
