Local San Francisco Author To Release Comprehensive Collector’s Art Style Book of NYC Busking Culture at Green Apple Books
PRLog - Aug 11, 2013 - SAN FRANCISCO -- A former journalism student of USF, Heather Jacks spent three and a half years in New York City, chronicling the busking culture and underground music scene there. Now she's back to release her limited edition Art Book, The Noise Beneath The Apple®. The event will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at Green Apple Books on Clement Street in the Inner Richmond in San Francisco.

“I am very excited to present the official book for The Noise Beneath the Apple®, right here in my hometown,” said local San Francisco author, Heather Jacks. “This will be a very limited opportunity to own a collectable volume of the true indie music scene. There will be live, acoustic performances by the amazingly talented Jason Adamo and Tara Hack, two of the featured artists in the collector's Art Book. There are only 250 books available, making them truly limited and collectable.”

The Noise Beneath the Apple® 200 page deluxe collector’s book is full of high quality photos and stories from 35 ground breaking musicians in the underground music scene of New York. It also comes with a very special eleven track audio component--(vinyl record), which features the original music of a select number of participants and was mastered by Academy Award winning Reuben Cohen.

“As indigenous to New York City as subways, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty, those tireless performers known as buskers have become the unsung heroes of the city’s underground music scene,” said Lee Zimmerman, of No Depression (“Lee’s Listening Stack”) in advance praise for the book. “The Noise Beneath The Apple finally gives these dedicated artists their due, turning the spotlight on a talented group of individuals usually hidden in the shadows, both literally and figuratively. For anyone interested in discovering the sounds that encompass the true heart and soul of the city, this is nothing less than an essential archival collection.”

A percentage of proceeds from the book and recording will go towards The San Francisco Rock Project, a non-profit, performance-based music school for kids age 7-17, located in the SoMa District.
