Today Silver Spring Networks, Inc. (NYSE: SSNI), a leading networking platform and solutions provider for smart energy networks, announced that the Silver Spring smart street lights solution was named an Edison Awards finalist in the Energy & Sustainability category. Silver Spring’s smart street lights solution enables lighting network operators to improve energy efficiency, lower operational costs, enable remote lighting management and control, and improve citizen safety. The solution also allows municipalities to leverage a smart street lights network canopy to deploy additional Smart City applications over time, lowering long-term costs and accelerating speed of deployment for new services.
