Richard Nottenburg Elected to Violin Memory Board of Directors

Violin Memory®, Inc., (NYSE:VMEM), a leader in persistent memory-based storage solutions, today announced that Dr. Richard N. Nottenburg has been elected to its Board of Directors, effective February 28, 2014. Dr. Nottenburg is a business consultant and private investor working with early-stage and established technology companies in the semiconductor, software and wireless communications industries.

Dr. Nottenburg’s prior management experience includes serving as the chief executive officer of two public companies, Sonus Networks, Inc. and Multilink Technology Corporation. He also held various executive officer positions with Motorola, Inc., ultimately serving as its Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

In addition to Violin Memory, Dr. Nottenburg currently serves on the boards of Aeroflex Holding Corp. (NYSE:ARX), PMC-Sierra, Inc. (NASDAQ:PMCS) and Verint Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:VRNT).

Dr. Nottenburg holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, and a Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland.
