Asia's Largest Hong Kong Houseware Fair, Textile Fair Open

Twin Fairs Welcome Nearly 2,300 Exhibitors for Four-Day Run

Hong Kong, Apr 20, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Nearly 2,300 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions are taking part in the HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles & Furnishings Fair, which opened today and continue through 23 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

Country Pavilions

The 29th Hong Kong Houseware Fair, the largest fair of its kind in Asia, welcomes some 2,060 exhibitors from 34 countries and regions, including newcomers from Nepal, Norway, Oman and Poland.

The fair features 16 group pavilions, including the ASEAN Select Pavilion, hosting 60 exhibitors from five countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

Inspiration Avenue

Fair highlights include three new zones: Avenue of Inspiration, presenting innovative houseware from Hong Kong start-up companies; Creative Arts & Cultural Craft; and Baby & Children's Homeware.

Elegance is Back

The Hall of Elegance is back, with such brands as BWT (Austria), Happycall (South Korea), Metier (Hong Kong), Multiple Choice by Topchoice (Hong Kong), Thomas Pottery (Hong Kong) and Vigar (Spain).

Also returning are the World of Fine Decor, World of Fine Dining, the World of Pet Supplies and the Small-Order Zone. Other product zones include Green Living, Health & Wellness, Home Tech, Kitchenware & Gadgets and Outdoor Living.

Pets on Parade

Special events include a range of product demonstrations, forums and seminars. Pet supplies are a show feature, with pet-supply parades today and Tuesday, a pet industry forum tomorrow and a seminar on creative pet products on 22 April.

World of Textiles

The fifth Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair features more than 220 exhibitors from seven countries and regions, including newcomers from the Czech Republic and Portugal. The fair also includes a pavilion from the Chinese mainland, as well as two from India: the Handloom Export Promotion Council and the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts.

The new Design Solutions and Trade Services zone presents interior design and product design offerings. Other zones include Baby & Bedroom Textiles, Bathroom & Kitchen Textiles, Carpet & Floor Coverings, Upholstery & Furnishing, and Window Fashion & Accessories.

Tracking Trends

Special events include a home textiles seminar this afternoon and a home textiles buyer forum tomorrow.

In addition, the two fairs are jointly presenting a number of events, including product demonstrations and ASEAN kitchen shows today through Tuesday, as well as an interior trend-tracker seminar tomorrow afternoon.
