Curian Capital® Appoints Walt Czaicki, CFA® as SVP, Chief Investment Officer

Curian Capital, LLC (www.Curian.com) today announced Walt Czaicki, CFA has accepted the role of senior vice president of the Asset Management Group (AMG) and chief investment officer for the company. In this position, he will be responsible for oversight of the asset manager selection and monitoring process, as well as asset allocation and capital market analysis for Curian’s $17.3 billion in assets under management or advisement.

Czaicki rejoined Curian in 2011 and has more than 25 years of investment management experience. Previously, he served as vice president of platform management for Curian’s AMG overseeing manager selection, model allocations and advisor communications. From 2005-2007, Czaicki served as vice president and director of portfolio management for Curian, responsible for managing the proprietary portfolios within the Curian platform. Czaicki will remain in Denver and report to Michael Bell, president and chief executive officer.

Over the past 10 years, Curian has seen tremendous growth and has evolved significantly as an asset management firm and platform, according to Bell. “We have expanded the scope of our investment strategies, distribution channels and the overall size of the asset management team,” he said. “Walt is the ideal leader to continue this expansion and to serve the evolving needs of our clientele. Prior to joining Curian, Czaicki was a senior portfolio manager with AllianceBernstein, representing the firm’s investment solutions as a member of its Retail Investors Investment Policy Group and the Blend Institutional division. In this role, he served some of the company’s largest institutional clients and consultants, as well as supported the retail channel. His experience includes portfolio management, equity research analysis and management of a $400 million growth-oriented equity fund.

Czaicki served as president of the St. Louis Society of Financial Analysts and holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst®. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration-finance, graduating cum laude, and a master’s degree in business administration from St. Louis University. Czaicki has also provided market commentary for various media outlets, including CNBC, CNN, National Public Radio and the Wall Street Journal.
