Hospitality Properties Trust (NYSE: HPT) today announced the results of its annual meeting which was held earlier today as follows.
John L. Harrington was re-elected as an Independent Trustee by a majority of all shares voted.
Barry M. Portnoy was re-elected as a Managing Trustee by a majority of all shares voted.
Shareholders approved an amendment to HPT’s Declaration of Trust to permit the annual election of all Trustees.
Shareholders approved a nonbinding advisory resolution approving the compensation paid to the Company’s named executive officers.
Shareholders ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as HPT’s independent registered public accounting firm.
Shareholders approved a nonbinding proposal by UNITE HERE requesting that HPT take certain steps to opt out of the Maryland Unsolicited Takeover Act, or MUTA.
Hospitality Properties Trust is a real estate investment trust, or REIT, which owns or leases a diverse portfolio of hotels and travel centers located in 44 states, Puerto Rico and Canada.
