Born from one of the most basic human needs, thirst, the first CamelBak hydration pack was imagined in 1988 as a way to provide hands-free hydration during the Hotter ‘N Hell 100-mile bike road race. What started as an IV bag filled with water tucked inside of a tube sock, became known as the first CamelBak in 1989 and quickly developed into the leading brand of personal hydration products.

Since its inception, CamelBak continues to engineer and update products to redefine best-in-market hydration solutions. Stemming from its cycling roots 25 years ago, CamelBak now offers category-first and premium products including, K.U.D.U., an innovative mountain bike hydration pack with fully-integrated state of the art back protection, and the re-engineered NV Back Panel system which is designed for optimal ventilation and comfort while on a bike.

"Much has changed since 1989, but our goals remains the same. We are fully dedicated to what we make, how we make it, for whom we make it and the way it impacts people’s lives," said Sally McCoy, CEO and President of CamelBak. "Today, CamelBak celebrates 25 years of category creation and leadership in hydration and we believe the best is yet to come.”

CamelBak’s extensive product portfolio includes hydration packs, vests, belts, bottles and a filtration pitcher, all designed to quickly and comfortably deliver hydration. In 2008 CamelBak introduced the industry’s first BPA-free, plastic, reusable water bottle and in 2014 entered the housewares space with Relay, a fast and innovative water filtration pitcher.

Built with integrity and sustainability in mind, all CamelBak products are covered by the Got Your Bak Lifetime Guarantee and help people develop hydration habits that are healthier for themselves and the planet. CamelBak’s Ditch Disposable movement works to diminish the use of single-use disposable bottles and to date has replaced more than 1.8 million disposable bottles through offering free freshly filtered water hydration stations at major music festivals and events.

CamelBak values forward-thinking and creative, unconventional ideas. Dedicated to finding unusual solutions to common problems, CamelBak continues to build upon its 25 years of experience and push the hydration boundaries.
