Mayor Charlie Hales Proclaims Sept. 19 ‘EY Day’ in Portland as Ernst & Young LLP Professionals Devote Day to Volunteerism

Portland Mayor Charlie Hales issued a proclamation recognizing this past Friday as “EY Day” in Portland as Ernst & Young LLP professionals left their spreadsheets at the office for a day of volunteerism. It’s all part of the firm’s national “EY Connect Day” which gives employees nationwide the day off so that they can give back to their communities.

Each year, EY professionals throughout the West Coast volunteer more than 19,000 hours of their time to nonprofit organizations in their communities. This year, the firm worked with SOLVE Oregon to clear invasive plants, maintain current native plants and plant new plants in the Dahl Beach Watershed area.
