Michael R. Marsh Joins Northern Trust Foundation and Institutional Advisory Services Team in Washington, D.C.

Northern Trust announced today that Michael “Mike” R. Marsh, CFM, joined the Foundation and Institutional Advisory Services practice serving the East region of the U.S. As a Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist, Mike Marsh will be responsible for new business development in the Mid-Atlantic Region for Northern Trust. Mike will report to James W. Tucker, CFA, East Region Managing Director of the practice.

Foundation & Institutional Advisors is a dedicated practice within Northern Trust that serves nonprofit organizations through sophisticated investment management solutions, strategic insights and world-class resources. Mike Marsh joined Northern Trust with more than 18 years of investment management experience working with institutional investors. He is based in Washington, D.C., and is responsible for developing new business with nonprofit organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. Prior to joining Northern Trust, he served as the Director of Nonprofit Investment Services for Rockefeller & Co., coordinating the delivery of investment management solutions to endowments and foundations.

Before entering the financial services industry, he served as a Jesuit; a Professor of Management; a consultant to refugee and disaster relief agencies globally; an ESL instructor for the United Nations; and a VISTA volunteer. Mike holds a Certified Financial Manager (CFM) designation and an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University. He received his MBA from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business, Masters’ Degrees in Divinity and Theology from the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley, Calif., and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickenson University. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (International Honor Society) and Alpha Mu Alpha (Honor Society). Mike volunteers with and serves on the boards of various nonprofit institutions.
