Aetna Better Health of Louisiana, an Aetna (NYSE: AET) health plan established to administer managed Medicaid services in Louisiana, has been selected by the State Department of Health & Hospitals to provide access to health care for eligible Louisianans. The three-year contract is scheduled to take effect Feb. 1, 2015.
Approximately one million individuals are eligible for Louisiana’s Medicaid Managed Care Program statewide. Aetna Better Health was one of five managed care organizations selected to administer the Bayou Health program, which serves Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Aged/Blind/Disabled (ABD) recipients.
