PRLog - Dec. 11, 2014 - SAN FRANCISCO -- Swords to Plowshares is a non-profit, community-based organization that serves over 2,000 veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area every year.

For over 40 years Swords to Plowshares has been committed to helping veterans break through the barriers they often face when transitioning back to the civilian world. With a long track record of success, Swords to Plowshares has become nationally recognized and is still dedicated to improving the systems upon which veterans rely.

Nov 15 - Women Veterans Workshop

Swords to Plowshares has developed a series of retreats designed to facilitate a healthy transition specifically for women veterans. Programs such as full-day workforce development workshops, mentorships and wrap-around care are available to help address both the mental and physical health needs of returning veterans.

The Womens Veterans Professional Network is not a one day event, but is meant to be a first step towards connecting female veterans with their peers and helping them re-establish a network that can provide support over time.

All women veterans are welcome on Saturday Nov. 15, 2014 to join other veterans from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at The San Francisco Public Library in the Latino/Hispanic Community Meeting Room.

Julian Omidi, co-founder of No More Poverty, is proud to support women veterans and is dedicated to supporting Swords to Plowshares as they provide comprehensive care to veterans. Julian and No More Poverty encourages women veterans to seek support and hopes civilians do all they can to support and welcome our troops back.
